What is a typical flight path for an airplane from Tokyo, Japan flying to New York?
I have a question about a typical flight from Tokyo to New York. I flew on flights about 19 years ago, again about 15 years ago and most recently about 9 years ago and I swear that on each flight when I would look out the window I saw what looked like barren ice and snow for a lot of the flight. Now of course I did see blue ocean below us at the beginning of each flight, but where was all of that ice and snow I saw? Was I looking at the top of the clouds? Or, was that really ice and snow? Now if that was ice, we surely didn't fly straight across the Pacific. We had to have gone up somewhere near the Arctic Circle!
