help with flight to new york and my daughter?
In 3 months, we are going to new york for the first time, I need you to help me with these questions please. Okay my 10 yr old daughter, has a very weak bladder, and is always going to the toilet, and I'm sure the planes are different when you got to america? so how many toilets are on a american, plane and when is she able to go to them, other then in flight? what if she needed it when she got on? will there be toilets in the waiting area? I'm trying to reassure her, she also said shes going to be embaressed because its a long flight and she will have to go back and forwards to the toilet, and she worried people will notice and also there might be a long qeaue. How long is the new york flight? from heathrow

There should be a bath room in the waiting area. And you could always try to sit close to the bathroom if the seats aren't assigned. And just in case I would get her some kind of pull ups or something so if she happens to have an accident it wont be noticeable. Not sure how long the flight would be.

There are usually 2-4 bathrooms on an airplane, depending on the size of the aircraft. She will not be able to go during take off and landing, but other than that she is free to go whenever on the aircraft, except during any turbulence. Basically whenever the seat belt sign is off, but if she really needed to go, I'm sure you could talk to a flight attendant. Its a long flight, so others will be using the bathroom a fair amount as well. She doesn't need to be embarrassed about it. I'm sure the crying baby or loud child will be more bothering to someone than her going to the bathroom frequently. The flight is about 8 hours or so.

there are toilets in the waiting area on the plane you can use the bathroom any time except during take off and landing usually 2 toilets on a plane one in the front and back

i think its about 5-6 hours. there are plenty of bathrooms at the airport - and i think 2 on the plane. teach her she has no reason to be embarrassed, even if people notice. you have to go to the bathroom, you have to go. if people look, tell her its because she's pretty.
